Asset Maintenance

“One of the greatest problems facing the public sector is our aging infrastructure. Decades of neglect and under-investment have left many of our critical assets in a state of disrepair and in need of replacement. In order to mitigate this decline, we need to not only re-invest in our systems and replace our infrastructure that has reached the end of its design life, but we also need to take steps to maintain the infrastructure that is still in good operable condition.”

LSPS Solutions offers a wide variety of asset maintenance activities to help you adequately maintain your existing infrastructure. We perform fire hydrant restoration, manhole inspections, mobile sandblasting and painting, smoke testing and valve exercising to help utilities keep their good infrastructure operating properly so that they can focus their limited budgets on replacement of their old, out-of-life-cycle assets.

LSPS Solutions offers full service mobile sandblasting and painting on exposed plant piping, entrances, gates, trailers, and equipment.

Fire Hydrant Restoration
LSPS Solutions specializes in mapping, flow-testing, sandblasting and re-painting your system’s fire hydrants.

Valve Exercising Programs
A Valve Exercising Program is a systematic approach to locating, collecting data on and operating a water system’s valves. The purpose of the Valve Exercising Program is to exercise main line valves throughout the distribution system to assure reliable operation. Typically, each valve is operated through a full cycle and returned to its normal position.

The best way to collect and record valve and valve exercising data involves collecting GPS coordinates along with any pertinent data on the valves and then geo-spatially tying the information to the valve using GPS data.

LSPS Solutions, LLC uses automatic valve operating equipment and electronic data capturing devices to capture and record the results of all valve exercising activities so that the information can be used properly recorded.

Manhole Inspections
Many problems can arise from faulty or deteriorated manholes. Over time, manholes may develop cracks or fractures that allow rain and groundwater to leak into the sewer.

Typically, as much as 30% of infiltration problems can be attributed to faulty manholes. The primary purpose of inspecting the manhole is to find and identify issues before they become hazardous. The best way to get a general inventory of the manholes in a collection system involves inspecting and photographing manholes and then geo-spatially tying the images and inspection to the manhole using GPS data.

LSPS Solutions, LLC uses pole-mounted manhole inspection cameras and electronic data capturing devices to inspect and record the results of all manhole inspections so that the information can be used for design, flow modeling, and infiltration and inflow studies.

Smoke Testing
Smoke testing is a process used when conducting I/I Studies to determine if and where rain and groundwater may be entering a sanitary sewer system Smoke testing is the process of forcing smoke filled air into the sewer system. At any break or defect in the sanitary sewer system, the smoke will rise from the ground, alerting inspection crews of an issue at that location.

The best way to collect and record smoke testing data involves collecting GPS coordinates and photographs of the problem areas and then geo-spatially tying the information to the pipe segment or manhole using GPS data.

LSPS Solutions, LLC uses electronic data capturing devices to capture and record the results of all smoke testing activities so that the information can be used for infiltration and inflow studies.
